So I will be running my 18th long distance race this Sunday in San Diego, the AFC Half Marathon. My 17th Half Marathon overall. People have asked me over the years what shoes do you run in or use for your training or actual race day. My answer: whatever is comfortable for you. As long as you train and break in the shoes, you should be fine on race day.
I started out running in Brooks Ghosts and I loved them. Then, I started to go to a lighter shoe series with the Nike Flyknits. Lately, I’ve been breaking in my Adidad Ultraboosts, which my wife got me for a birthday. I will be using them again on Sunday. My goal is to finish the Triple Crown and I’ll be doing it with some nice cushy cloud feeling shoes.
