#BodyRock #Dance Competition

Saturday June 3, 2017

A buddy and I attended a dance competition at the San Diego Civic Theatre in Downtown San Diego. It was our first time watching a live dance competition of this magnitude. We parked a couple blocks from the venue. Luckily, we only had to pay the meter for about 30 minutes since after 6pm metered parking becomes free. We walked to the venue and saw dance groups galore rehearsing final steps outside the venue.

I was able to get good center seats for less than $40 and only a few rows from the stage.

The organizers spoke about the order of events and after that, the competition was ON! We enjoyed great performances all throughout the night. You could totally see all the hard work and dedication paying off for these dancers who came in all sizes, shapes and ages.

Here is a clip giving tribute to a past performance. It was Bohemian Rhapsody with a Suicide Squad theme.

The organizers shared at the beginning of the night that they would be going on hiatus 🙁, so we look forward to any future events of this type coming back to San Diego.

Some pics of the top 3 winning dance groups. I personally enjoyed Chapkis Dance Group and Geisha Crew.
